Is the sherpa pet carriers too small for my puppy?

Question by Alice C: Is the sherpa pet carriers too small for my puppy?
I bought one of those carriers for my puppy because he is going to be on the plane with me when we fly to Anchorage. I followed the measurements of buying the right size for him which is a medium…but how much room should he have to move around? He can move around in it from one end to the other. He also spins in it sometimes and other times he is just on one side…. but he looks pretty cramped to me. So how much room is he supposed to have? Maybe he’s just not used to it? I just feel sorry for him. :(

He should be fine – they can safely be used on cats and puppies/dogs up to about 15 lbs. If your puppy is larger then that, he will have to fly in cargo.

I adore boston terriers–they have attitude, but are friendly and not at all froo-froo.

Question by Ana: Which do you think a small dog would prefer? A backpack style or shoulder strap style carrier?
My dog is 5 pounds and only active when you get him riled up. He loves to sit and watch. I just can’t decide which carrier would be better for him. Which do you think?
Yeah so I wrote this with the assumption that only intelligent people would respond. But I see that there are the ignorant ones that don’t realize that some people travel in public areas (hmm airports for one) where a dog can’t just “walk around”. Thank you to the ones who answer the question with the options given instead of creating their own.
Thank you Kate for the lecture. Again, simple question, simple options. If you need a full disclosure on how I raise my dog, feel free to email me. I believe the email option is available here. Then you can actually respond to a question in the requested manner perhaps. Until then, find a question you can answer.
