Question by Springs: Puppy Totes?
I am attempting to find a puppy carrier for my Yorkie. I like the sophisticated-purse look, small, can hide him at one moment, but yet he can poke his head out later. I want it to be comfortable for him though and not feel as though he can’t see the outside world, like he’s in a box. I’m a fan of Puchi, Creature Couture, and Tara Boone but those run pretty expensive. I want quality and cute but for under $ 200. Is this feat possible and if so, where?

Question by Isserley: Pet carrier for airline travel?
I have a schnauzer about 15-20lbs. What’s the best stroller/carrier for a dog her size for air trave?
Any other useful info about air travel with your pet is appreciated.

You will need to get a carrier made of plastic and tape it together, preferably with tape that says LIVE ANIMAL. If not just use some good tape and get a sticker that says LIVE ANIMAL INSIDE or something like that. Then you’ll probably have to send your dog air freight (which is extra) on the same plane your taking. But if your airline would allow you to bring him/her as a carry on then go for that. And then you might get away with one of those big purse looking carriers.

Question by wmarie: What carrier should I use for a 15-18lb dog?
My Miniature Schnauzer is somewhere between 15 and 18lbs and occasionally we take her with us on overnight trips. Of course I use a leash when we’re outside, but sometimes I would like to have a carrier (the soft sided purse/tote kind, not like a crate) so that I can keep her close to me and up off the ground. I’ve looked at so many online, but I’m still not too sure if she would fit in any of them. I would take her to a pet store to try some in person, but there’s really no pet stores in my area that sell carriers.
She is also about 16″ long from her neck to her tail and 11″ tall from the floor to the top of her back.
So my question is: What type of carrier would you recommend? Do any of you have dogs this size that you put in carriers? If so, what brand is it and where did you buy it from?
Thanks for the help!

That’s a big dog to be carrying in a bag! If you must, I think petflys has some wheeled ones, otherwise, I hope your health insurance covers chiropractic.

Question by Rachel-PitPolice-Spay the Humans: Grrr…leave your dog at home!!!!!?
So, I just ran to the grocery store for some fruit…and low and behold, a woman with a chihuahua peeking out of her straw tote is leaning over the produce.
Does anyone else find this especially irritating?
I had no problems taking my ON LEAD and well-behaved APBTs to the local Farmer’s Exchange to do some shopping, or PetSmart/PetCo where well behaved pets are welcome…but I think it’s entirely inappropriate to take a dog, who is not a service animal, to a public place that isn’t specifically pet friendly…I don’t care how easily it fits into your purse.
Why? Why can’t people just leave their dogs home? I mean….the GROCERY STORE? Come on….
Agreed Aussie. In Paris, I had lunch with a woman and her sheepdog. However, there are folks around with severe allergies to dander….does a dog, however small, belong in a produce department.

Yeah i find that incredibly rude. You should have gone and gotten a worker to talk to her. I know if my dad saw that (he used to work at a grocery store) he’d be pissed. He was a produce man and i know he wouldnt want a dog anywhere near the produce. Its ridiculous how people think dogs are fashion accessories and not dogs. I bet that dog doesnt even know how to walk on a lead.
