Question by Rachel-PitPolice-Spay the Humans: Grrr…leave your dog at home!!!!!?
So, I just ran to the grocery store for some fruit…and low and behold, a woman with a chihuahua peeking out of her straw tote is leaning over the produce.
Does anyone else find this especially irritating?
I had no problems taking my ON LEAD and well-behaved APBTs to the local Farmer’s Exchange to do some shopping, or PetSmart/PetCo where well behaved pets are welcome…but I think it’s entirely inappropriate to take a dog, who is not a service animal, to a public place that isn’t specifically pet friendly…I don’t care how easily it fits into your purse.
Why? Why can’t people just leave their dogs home? I mean….the GROCERY STORE? Come on….
Agreed Aussie. In Paris, I had lunch with a woman and her sheepdog. However, there are folks around with severe allergies to dander….does a dog, however small, belong in a produce department.

Yeah i find that incredibly rude. You should have gone and gotten a worker to talk to her. I know if my dad saw that (he used to work at a grocery store) he’d be pissed. He was a produce man and i know he wouldnt want a dog anywhere near the produce. Its ridiculous how people think dogs are fashion accessories and not dogs. I bet that dog doesnt even know how to walk on a lead.

No dogs seen. Nita, my friend and tour guide, was photographed and interviewed in a Reuters story only days after the flood. She was pictured next to an M-16-toting National Guardsman asking her why she was breaking into people’s homes to feed and water their abandoned pets. (The answer was self-evident.)
Reggae on Muir Pass

Atop Muir Pass that day were a couple guys named Joe and Graham who were giving away Pabst Blue Ribbon hot dogs to JMT travelers. They had even toted a cheap music box to the pass to provide a bit of music. Black Giant looms in the BG.

Japan Trains and Dogs

Have you ever seen pets on trains? Maybe a dog or a cat peering out of someones bag in front of you. I saw a guy with a bunny rabbit in his backpack once.
This poster by JR is telling people to keep their pets fully inside their case whilst on the train. That is, not letting the head come out of the case.
Do you ride with your pet on the train? What pets ride on the train in your part of the world?
