you’ll have to check a pet supply store. if nothing else you can tuck the carrier in the seatbelt. there are belts and harness and even little boxes that fit inside the seat belt you can put her in.

Q&A: Sherpa Pet Carrier on American Airlines?

Question by aevans21927: Sherpa Pet Carrier on American Airlines?
Can a medium sized Sherpa bag fit in the cabin on an American Airlines flight? Under the seat in front of you? Anyone actually done this? Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Chance
Not all Sherpa bags are airline approved. Make sure that your style and brand is approved.

The maximum size for cabin pet carriers is 19″ long x 13″ wide x 9″ high. Soft-sided pet carriers such as Sherpa bags may exceed these dimensions slightly because they are collapsible. Animals must be able to stand up, turn around and lie down in a natural position in the kennel. Soft-sided pet carriers are accepted as long as they are constructed of water-repellent, padded nylon with mesh ventilation on two or more sides.

Question by sweet82angel07: what’s the best airline approved pet carrier for a cat thats under 20 pounds?

Best answer:

Answer by L.G.
It’s only if you’re placing the carrier in the baggage hold that you have to have a fairly specific carrier.

If a carrier will fit under the seat i front of you and your animal can stand/sit/lie down comfortably in it, you can take it in the cabin with you. It should also fairly escape-proof.

You can use the hard-sided, molded polyeurethine carriers that have wire ventilation panels in the top and sides or you can take one of the soft-sided carriers that are more like a shoulder-style purse. I’d go with whatever your cat is most comfortable in.
