The first of hundreds of dirty, starving kittens I saw in Croatia. I actually made it through that country without putting them all in my backpack. (Which was good, because all the starving dogs I encountered in Romania would have eaten them anyway.)

we went on our first camping trip of the season this weekend at Nancy Lake. here Zach packs out the dogs’ bed with some creative engineering using their leashes to make backpack straps.

My eight trip of the year, ninth top. Really bad weather, so I didn’t even bring my tripod. (my backpack doesn’t allow the rain cover to be attached while I have the tripod strapped to it) The first picture is just to show how bad it really was. The second one is of my uncle and aunts dog posing for the camera with the Steinlandsfjord in the background.
Needless to say, I’ll have to climp up that mountain again in better weather.

Home is Where the Heart Is….

…even if it’s in the bushes behind the Exxon Station, I guess!!!!
I stop at this station for a hotdog breakfast almost every morning (the breakfast of champions!!!). So, while munching on my dog, I noticed that there was a lot of dew on all the plants and decided to take a few pics. Well, while I was on my knees, peering around through the camera’s lens, I caught a flash of movement and heard a radio playing in the bushes behind the brick dumpster bin….
This couple had a mattress, pillows, covers, a radio, and backpacks!!! I was only a few feet away when I saw them and I crept back to my truck so they would’t think I was spying on them!!! I actually don’t think they even saw me!!
I took this shot from the truck using my strongest zoom.
I see them there every morning, and I can’t imagine what they do when we get our regular afternoon rain showers!!! That mattress HAS to feel like someone peed on it!!!
