What’s the longest amount time you can travel with your pet in a carrier?
Question by Kim: What’s the longest amount time you can travel with your pet in a carrier?
I’m driving from LA to SF and I don’t know how long is ok for my dog to be in her carrier at a time. How often should I stop to let her out?
She’s a yorkie and she’s 6 months

When you stop to go to the bathroom, let the dog out, and let him go to the bathroom, and give him some water. Then let him go to the bathroom again. Then back in the crate, and then get back on your way. When you stop anytime, for bathroom, food, or gas, take the dog out to eliminate, and to get some water.

You should stop about every 2 hours. When you stop, take you dog for a little walk to get a chance to pee/poop.
If you dog is used to travel and being in the crate, you can go longer between breaks.
Let her out whenever you stop or whenever she gets restless.
Let her walk, potty, eat/drink.
Shouldn’t be too bad. We drove from Memphis to Chicago with my lab and she was fine.
